"Set For Life"

It’s Saturday morning and what are the majority of the male tennis players in the greater Atlanta area doing? If it’s the Spring or Fall season, the answer is getting ready for your (insert the name of the league here) tennis match. When the match is over, what do you do? If you are so inclined, you drink a beer. It’s every American’s right to do so. Now imagine never having to pay for a beer again in your home country. Never. Ever. That is where Juan Martin Del Potro now finds himself. I’m not sure of the legal drinking age in Argentina but rest assured that as soon as Del Potro is of age there will be a line of folks willing to step up to pay the bar tab. What did he do to deserve this? Easy, he won two (including the deciding) matches in Argentina’s semifinal round win over Russia. Should Argentina somehow pull off the victory over Spain in the Davis Cup final and Del Potro may very well be eligible for Sainthood. This is what makes Davis Cup the greatest team competition in the world. Players can pull off an upset or two and go down in their country’s history. Remember Hugo Chapacu. He helped Paraguay upset the United States in a 1987 Davis Cup tie. I’ve heard rumors but have not been able to verify them as yet that Chapacu was given a Ferrari convertible, a spacious mansion, and his pick of wives. Plus never having to pay for a beer ever. Ever.

As always, good luck in your matches.
Jerry

Actually, it's more just good common sense. If you're wearing a new pair of tennis shoes for your weekend match and you step in a fresh pile of Rich Rodriquez clean the shoes off before going on court.
