"A Spit in the Face"

Congratulations to former West Virginia head coach Rich Rodriquez for accepting the head coaching position at the University of Michigan. Congratulations to Rodriquez for pulling the wool over the eyes of every player, fan, alumnus and supporter of the West Virginia Mountaineers. Congratulations to Rodriquez for an oscar winning performance of a coach who cares about his team in his tearful press conference following the Mountaineer's loss to the hated Pitt Panthers which cost us a chance at playing for the National Title. Great job of coaching there Rich. You have to admit, Rodriquez had everyone fooled. He fooled everyone into thinking he was going to take the head coaching job at Alabama last year. He fooled everyone into thinking that loyalty runs deeper than greed. Congratulations to Rich Rodriquez for joining Bobby Petrino as the floatsams of the coaching universe. If this column sounds like I'm a little p*ssed at this turn of events, then you're right. I am. I think that it's crap that a head coach can bail on a team as it prepares for a BCS bowl game. I think it's crap that a coach can turn his back on a team that believed in him when he said he would be their coach for as long as they would have him. May the University of Michigan never have a winning season as long as Rich Rodriquez is their coach.

As always, good luck in your matches.
Jerry
