 The American men are back. Forget our beyond dismal results at this year's French Open. Name me one public court in the United States where you can play on red clay. Answer: none (at least that I know of). Now point out all the public courts where you can walk on and play some good old fashioned hard court tennis. Trust me, there are tons of those out there. The young American men are on the rise. John Isner has won two matches at the Open and will now play Roger Federer. OK, he probably won't win this match but it's a good result to get this far. Donald Young is into the third round. Must I point out that Frenchman Richard Gasquet was so intimidated by Young that he forfeited his second round match to him? In all fairness to Gasquet he withdrew with an injury but that makes for boring print. Sam Querrey was supposed to make a big splash at the Open but he inexplicably folded against Stefan Koubek after blowing six set points in the opening set. Veterans Roddick, Blake, and Ginepri are all alive in the draw. So start waving your American flags and cheer for our boys. This should work until the second week of the Open which is when Federer starts cleaning house. Don't forget, Davis Cup is coming soon as the U.S. will take on Sweden so keep those flags handy. |

 Barbecued Salami
This is a fantastic, good tasting recipe that you may not even have to go to the grocery store if you stock up ahead of time on these ingredients.
One Large Summer Sausage
(The ones that are not refrigerated)
1/2 jar of Barbecue Sauce
(any kind is good, smoked is the best)
Toothpicks
Any mustard
Directions: Cut the sausage into bite size chunks. Put in a large microwave bowl. Pour 1/2 jar of barbecue sauce on the sausage and mix. Microwave for 3 minutes. That's it!
Serve room temp. on toothpicks with any kind of mustard-honey mustard, spicy brown, dijon, etc.... Nice crackers can be served on the side.
