Don't forget that you can pull forward past rosters when setting up a new team. With the Fall season approaching this is a great time saver. To pull forward a roster, login in with your personal login and password. From your PUC (personal user console), click on the "Sign up a new or returning team of which I am the captain" link. Then, in the drop down box, choose the team that has the roster you want to pull forward/reinstate and click the Use this Team button. Then just complete the rest of the registration process.

Treating a Sports Injury
A combination of essential fatty acids and antioxidants is an effective treatment for inflammatory injuries common to many athletes.
Researchers working with Denmark's National Rowing Team gave athletes a combination of nutritional supplements to treat overuse injuries. The athletes used the supplements instead of the traditional method of taking non-steroidal-anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), which can have unwanted side effects.
The athletes were given a combination of omega-3 and omega-6 oils, vitamins A, B6, C and E, plus selenium and zinc. According to the researchers, most athletes responded positively to the treatment in as little as 2-3 weeks. (1)
Athletes and non-athletes alike should take note of this research since it offers an effective method of treatment for joint pain and muscle soreness that does not rely on NSAIDs.
This exciting research also supports the important role supplements play in the prevention of overuse injuries. Cheese Cake Brownies
Brownies:
3/4 cup lightly salted butter
1/3 cup Dutch Cocoa
2 eggs
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup self-rising flour
1 tsp vanilla
3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Cream Cheese Mix:
3/4 cup reduce fat cream cheese (softened)
1 egg
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup self-rising flour
1 tsp vanilla
Prepare a square (preferably 8 “) pan by coating with butter and lightly dusting with cocoa. (Cocoa is used instead of flour to keep the brownies from sticking, but it won’t leave a white powder.)
First make your chocolate mixture by melting butter in a saucepan, stir in the cocoa, blend with a wooden spoon or heat resistant spatula and put it aside. Beat the eggs with a mixer until fluffy. Slowly add the sugar and then stir in the chocolate mixture. Sift the flower over the top and fold it into the chocolate. Add vanilla and finally fold in the chocolate chips.
For the cream cheese mixture, whisk together the cream cheese, egg and sugar. Sift the flower into the mixture and fold it in. Finally, add the vanilla.
Pour about 3/4 of the brownie mix into the pan. Layer the cream cheese over the top. Drop spoonfuls of the brownie mix on top and swirl with a thin spatula, toothpick or butter knife.
Bake at 350 for 35 to 40 minutes. When done, the top will be springy. Cool cut and enjoy!

| If any additional proof is needed as to why I should be immediately elevated to the Presidency of the ATP tour one has to look no further than the policies that were recently approved by the ATP board. In case you missed it, in their continuing effort to abolish doubles from the pro game, starting in September doubles matches will feature no-ad scoring and tie-breaks will be played at 4-4. These supposed "enhancements" have been implemented to entice more singles players to participate in doubles which in turn will increase the appeal of doubles to fans and sponsors alike. Speaking strictly for myself I would rather see more of the players who know how to play doubles (doubles specialists) instead of less of the players (singles players) who don't. To further drive the nail in the coffin for players such as Cyril Suk, Mark Knowles and Andy Ram (just to name a few), beginning in 2008 only players in the main singles draw will be allowed entry into the doubles. Some wild card entries will still be allowed and spots reserved based on some half-*ssed best combined ranking. The bottom line is that the ATP tour wants to weed out the doubles specialist and heap more attention on the boring baseline players of today. Just imagine if you will the doubles final of the US Open being contested by four players standing at the baseline and trading groundstrokes. Yeah, that's something that I want to see. |
