Our first Ladies' Day of the year on Thursday March 6th at White Columns Country Club was huge with over 70 ladies in attendance. All worked hard for the three hours of drills and then enjoyed margaritas, shopping opportunities, a great lunch and fantastic giveaways. | Have you ever wondered how some tennis players develop their strokes? I'm not talking about top college players or pros, who have undoubtedly had thousands of hours of drills and practices. I'm talking about the majority of the weekend players who are out there hacking and whacking to the best of their abilities. Some players take weekly lessons, some practice incessantly, some simply go out there and try to get the ball over the net one more time than their opponent. Whatever works. We played a guy this past weekend who could hit both left-handed and right-handed. Sometimes he would hit a conventional forehand and other times he would hit two handed backhands from either side. Quite frankly, I'm not coordinated enough to even try hitting like that. Bottom line, he was comfortable doing it. Pancho Gonzales had possibly the smoothest service motion of all time. Mine, on the other hand, is a right-handed version of Roscoe Tanner's but without the perfect timing and the 130 MPH. No matter how you hit the ball, if you're out there every weekend doing your best and having fun, then you're ahead of the game. |

1 small bag Broccoli Florets
3/4 cup Craisins
1/2 cupSlivered Almonds
1 Package Broccoli Slaw
Any Mustard, 1/2 cup
2 tb. Sugar
2 ts. Red Wine Vinegar
1/2 cup Light Sour Cream
S/P
Mix together and Chill. You can really have fun with this recipe and substitute items, make it fat-free/sugar-free. Use other raw veggies or sunflower seeds. Use regular cole slaw and broccoli, etc... |
