Captains, don't forget about the RainOut feature on your teamsites. It looks like we might get some rain on the weekends for some of this Fall's matches and this feature can be very useful in scheduling you and your players makeup matches. To enter Rainout Mode, all you need to do is go to the Lineup page for the week in question. Once there, click on the "Edit Lineup" button like normal. You will then see a button that says "Enter Rainout Mode." Click this button and the screen changes to allow different options such as entering opponents names and contact numbers for each position of play. By entering this information, it will be very easy for your players to find out who they need to contact to schedule the makeup match. And all without ever having to call you on the phone. Once you have entered all of the information you want, just click the "Update Lineup" button as usual and you are all set. Your players can even still put replies on the Lineup page to let the team know when they will be playing so everyone can come out and watch. Let's hope for no rain on match days, but if it does, don't forget about this very useful feature.

| If any of you have been paying attention to anything at all that I've written over the years it should be abundantly clear that I have never been a fan of the Williams sisters, Venus and Serena. I'm also quite certain that they have no clue as to who I am and would certainly not be concerned with my opinion of them even if they did. So it will come as a great shock to you to learn that I am actually going to say something in Serena William's favor. As most of you should know she has missed the majority of the tennis year with various injuries and ailments. She was an unseeded "floater" in this year's U.S. Open and advanced to the fourth round before losing to Amelie Mauresmo where her apparent lack of conditioning contributed to her three set loss. Which brings us to the point I'm going to make. After consulting with numerous representatives of the various sanctioned airlines I have found that there is absolutely no, non whatsoever, truth to the rumors going around that Serena is being charged by said airlines "excessive baggage" fees for the extra weight she is carrying on her derriere. Nor is there no truth that the reason she quit wearing her "cat suit" for tennis matches is that it split up the middle as she was bending over to pick up a ball. Give her a couple of months of serious training to get back in shape and she will easily move back into the top ten rankings. You know, that actually came out much more positive on paper than when the thoughts were floating around in my head. You're welcome Serena. |

| Recipe of the Month |
Kelley's Cracker Candy
This is a great desert snack for your matches and extremely easy to make.
- saltines
- 2 sticks of butter
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 bag of Reese‚s peanut butter chips
- 1/2 bag of mini chocolate chips
- Nuts are optional
Preheat oven to 350.
Put foil on cookie sheet and lay out saltines so they cover the cookie sheet (in single layer).
Melt butter; add sugar and boil for 3 minutes.
Pour butter/sugar over the saltines and bake on 350 for 15 minutes or until caramel color.
Immediately pour peanut butter chips over the saltines and spread over the saltines. (let chips sit for a minute- spread better).
Sprinkle the mini chocolate chips on top of the peanut butter chips. (nuts are optional).
Promptly place in refrigerator. Break apart once cool. |
